Mid-Term Reflection!


Active Learning has been great for me till now and I enjoy it because it just gives me a break from sitting down all-day and writing! I am always prepared for A.L. by bringing my gym strip everyday to class, and I try to participate as much as I can in gym as well. For example when we play basketball, volleyball, capture the flag and other activities I try to help my teammates as much as I can and I try to do my part in the game well. I think I have participated well in games like girls basketball or volleyball probably because the comfort level is higher and I’m playing with my friends and enjoying myself, so that just gives me motivation to do my best! I think for me FITNESS had sometimes been a struggle because you have to keep going and find a pace, so really for me I usually don’t have any struggle in gym and often enjoy it! :) I contribute by helping in organizing teams, finding pinnies, putting things away and just the little things like picking up things and putting them in the right place. In A.L. I try to bring a positive and happy attitude because it just automatically gives you motivation and you will enjoy yourself more if you think positively. I believe that if you have a positive attitude everything will go well! I also bring a positive attitude so I can motivate others and they can have fun as well. I interact with other students in class by talking to them if they are on my team or by talking to them about school and gym. I honestly feel that I am much better in FITNESS than I was last year because this year I have more motivation to push myself and do as much as I can! I am able to participate in FITNESS a lot better now and I am able to push myself too. I think I enjoy most fitness activities unless it has to do with stairs because stairs just make things harder and take more stamina. I hope to get a higher beep test score and more cardio endurance along with muscular. Leadership to me means being a role model and teaching the right thing. Someone in our class who is a good leader is Erlynn because she is able to control very calmly, but responsibly as well. I remember when she alone organized four basketball teams and how the game is going to work and she did it very calmly and the game worked out great! I would like to be able to fully participate in every game and be able to do better in FITNESS because I know I can do better and there is room for improvement. I think I am most proud of being able to do better in FITNESS this year because honestly last year I was not that great at A.L., but this year I am a lot better. I think I deserve a B in A.L. so far because I know I can improve just a little more and can achieve my goals! Overall for work habits I think I deserve a G. :) -Simran

25 Minute Run !

Today we did 25 minute run in P.E! I was very proud of myself because I was able to pace myself pretty well and even if I got tired I would speed walk instead of just walking normally. Here are my results for the run !

Final Post For Gym :)

Wow! How did this year go by so fast? Well we are already at the end of this year and I'm going to have to say it was amazing! Well Active Learning has been a great experience for me. I remeber in Elementary we were playing games like dodgeball and fun games, but when we came to highschool that didn't last anymore. though still somehow we got through this year...I think. So A.L for me has been a great experience. I got to discover new games and explore with new people. I have to say FITNESS is a struggle at first, but soon you start improving and start to learn how to balance yourself. I remember at the start of the year I did horrible on community run and I got something like 35:10! i was so mad that I got such a bad community run time. As the year passed we repeated the same run and soon I got a better time like 25:24! Thanks so much to the people who motivated me. Also things like Pond Run got better and I was able to pace myself and do everything greatly! I remember on the 30 minute run I made a goal to do 6 laps and i was able to! I was amazed! some of my best days have actually been FITNESS days! Sometimes just being outside and running is fun and it actually gets you going. I have to thank Kate most of all for giving me so much support and motivation to do my best! THANK YOU :* Okay back to A.L. So obviously this was new for me and I got to experience some great adventures. Things that I will always remember is playing games like Hide and Seek tag or capture the flag with just the grade eights! I actually really enjoyed A.L this year. Now definitely no one is perfect, but you can always try your best right? I try to do my best in P.E and just be a good sport and try to encourage people! Everyone should try to reach for the stars and not give up :)  Though i have to say A.L is a great experience for newcomers and I learned a lot in grade eight! I was so lucky I had such a great teacher who understands you, motivates you and also tells you where you need improvement in the politest way ever ;) I think I deserve and A in A.L because I have improved over the year and have been able to demonstrate my learning. Though there is always space for improvement, you just have to believe :)   -Simran <3

Active Learning Update!

Wow! This year is going by so fast ! I'm so happy that by the end of the year I'm improving in gym ! I never expected that I would be able to improve this fast! I remember at the starting of the year I was only able to get 35:10 on my community run and now I got 25:24! Thats almost a 10 minute difference! Though overall I'm enjoying fitness a lot and there are some many inspiring people in my P.E block. For example Kate. She is so motivational and I'm so happy to have a friend like her who tells me to run with her and motivates me to not stop and keep pacing! Thanks Kate! I'm enjoying P.E till now and I'm excited to see whats next :)

Midterm Reflection

Wow! It's already more than half way through second semester. I never thought time would fly by this fast. I think some of my best days have actually been fitness days. I feel that in fitness I work hard so it just makes me feel good. I think I work my hardest in fitness and in group activities. For example group activities would mean playing volleyball or badminton. Nothing is really an obstacle for me during Active Learning that really bothers me or makes me want to stop. The only thing that could be is if someone is stopping me. People around me motivate me. My friends always tell me to be a good sport and just try my best. It motivates me because with them I feel like I can do anything and when they tell me I feel like I just get a boost of confidence. I actually have had a lot of improvement in Fitness. When I was doing community run I got a better time that before. This shows me that I am doing better and working harder in Fitness. Also when we did the Pond Run I was actually running when you had to and walking when you had to. This really made me happy and proud. :) I'm sure as time goes I will be able to do better. In Get Fit I think I have had some defining moments. These moments would probably be where I worked the most hard. Like during Pond Run or Community Run. I'm especially proud of improving in Community Run and Pond Run. Also things like 30 for 40. I also often play badminton in my yard with my sister. We get pretty far in passing it back and forth :) I feel that I have improved a lot in gym during Fitness and just in regular everyday games. I feel that I am able to participate in games way more than before. I think I deserve an A in gym because I have improved from last semester and have been able to get better results in Fitness or any other game. I think I have improved and deserve an A, but there is always your opinion as well. I look forward to the rest of the semester :) -Simran

Active Learning - Interim Report :)

I think I deserve a G in A.L because I participate in gym activities and I can cooperate with everyone too! My face turns pretty red when I do fitness and I try to work my hardest during fitness ! I can feel that my face is really hot when fitness is happening and when it is over. I am always prepared for gym class with my gym strip and the other things needed!

Active Learning!

Active Learning has been a great experience for me through the first semester. Now I actually know what it's like to do P.E because in elementary we use to do the simplest stuff ever like soccer or dodgeball. Active Learning has been a good experience for me. I try to do my best and if I ever do get tired I go a little slower and then start again. Fitness is new for me, but slowly I am getting use to that too. Like today my friend and I worked our hardest in Fitness and didn't stop. We were really proud of ourselves. I try to encourage and cheer people during A.L. For example if we are playing volleyball or a different sport I encourage people to not lose hope if we are losing or if they weren't able to score I tell them that it's all right maybe next time. A lot of times I will lose hope (usually this happens sometimes when I'm doing fitness), but my friends encourage me and tell me I can do it.  Just look at today, when we did circuit I could tell that I had improved because I was able to do it without stopping! I am pretty cooperative with everyone. For example if I am on a team then I encourage the team and get along well with people. So far Active Learning has been a great experience for me and I hope to look forward to it the rest of the year. :) I think I deserve a B because I know I can work harder! So now when semester 2 starts I will try my hardest. :) -Simran
